HARRISBURG – The Broadband Communications Association of Pennsylvania (BCAP), in partnership with the Pennsylvania Cable and Telecommunications Foundation, will host the inaugural Pennsylvania Broadband Summit in Lancaster on April 26-27 as a way to highlight the advancements, policy discussions, and next steps within the broadband industry in Pennsylvania.
The event will feature speakers and panelists from throughout the broadband industry on a variety of topics. Specifically, panels will include legislative and policy updates from Washington, D.C., and Harrisburg; executives from several broadband and cable companies; federal funding for rural broadband deployment; a look ahead at 10G technology; improvements for digital access and equity; business fiber opportunities; and customer care.
“With Pennsylvania poised to receive more than $1 billion in federal funding in the coming year, the broadband industry has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help ensure that families, businesses, and organizations have access to affordable broadband service,” said BCAP President Todd Eachus. “This summit will explore the opportunities for our member companies while learning from each other’s best practices.”
In addition to panels, presentations, and discussions, the two-day meeting will also feature the presentation of the President’s Community Award, which will be announced soon.
“We invite anyone who has an interest in broadband to attend this inaugural event,” Eachus said. “Broadband has become an essential part of daily life, and our mission at BCAP and the Foundation is to ensure that quality, affordable broadband is accessible throughout our Commonwealth. This summit will help educate those within our industry about the exciting opportunities that exist now and in the future.”
