The merger of the Nexstar and Tegna media companies is detrimental to local broadcasting and news delivery. BCAP is a lead plaintiff in one lawsuit that would prevent this media monopoly. In the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market, the completed merger would allow one company to own or operate three broadcast affiliates: WNEP (ABC), WBRE (NBC) and WYOU (CBS). In the Harrisburg market, WPMT (Fox) and WHTM (ABC) would be owned by Nexstar.
