The Broadband Communications Association of Pennsylvania (BCAP) has welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors and re-elected four additional members after elections were held during the organization’s annual membership meeting in Gettysburg recently.
“We are looking forward to working with our two new board members, Jim Kail of Laurel Highlands Total Communications, and Kayla Lewis, of Charter Communications, who bring a wealth of experience from their companies,” said BCAP Board Chairman Fran Bradley, an executive with Breezeline. “Already, BCAP and the broadband industry in Pennsylvania has benefited from their vast knowledge, insight and experience, and we’re pleased to have them formally join us.”
Kail currently serves as the company’s President and CEO at LHTC, where he has been since 2002. He is also currently the CEO of Western PA Fiber Network, LLC. and a founding member of the Small Company Coalition, which was established in 2012 to educate and empower small rural communications service providers on methods to influence and eliminate harmful regulations and legislation.
Lewis is the Senior State Government Affairs Manager at Charter Communications, covering parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, she leads Charter’s local franchising efforts, legislative advocacy, and manages strategic relationships with state and local government officials.
In addition to the two new board members, four BCAP board members were re-elected to their positions for three-year terms: Michael Hain of Jackson Broadband; Jeremy Jurick of Armstrong; Elizabeth Murray of Comcast; and Michael Starner of Service Electric Cable TV and Communications.
Hain, the general manager and chief technology officer of Lewistown-based Jackson Broadband, has been in the cable business since he was a teenager. A second-generation owner, Hain’s family has continued to be an independent operator serving central Pennsylvania.
Jurick is Vice President of Regulatory Policy at Armstrong. In supporting Armstrong’s Public-Private Partnerships (P3) initiative, Jurick develops solutions alongside federal, state and local government agencies, non-profits, and private industries to bring broadband to rural America.
Murray is vice president of Advocacy and Strategic Initiatives for Comcast in nine states throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England.
Starner has been the senior business development manager at Service Electric Cable TV and Communication in Bethlehem. His prior experience includes past management and ownership roles within the cable, fiber-optic and telecommunication industry while working with the local business community and associations in developing strategic relationships.
Another addition to the board is new Associate Representative, Mike Roddy, co-founder and CEO of GoCare. Roddy has spent over a decade driving the digital transformation of broadband customer experiences. He joins Karen Ricci of Calix, who has served as an Associate Representative for the past year.
“We’re excited to welcome back to our board several individuals who have made significant contributions to our association and to the broadband industry over the past several years,” said BCAP President Todd Eachus. “As the state’s leading voice for broadband and telecommunications at the state Capitol, we rely on our valuable board members who bring real-world insight and experience that helps to shape public policies. We thank them for their service and look forward to working with them.”
The Broadband Communications Association of Pennsylvania, a member-driven organization based in Harrisburg, actively promotes broadband cable and telecommunications industry issues in Pennsylvania. BCAP – the nation’s first state cable association – represents cable operators, programmers and equipment suppliers that collectively provide service to nearly 3 million Pennsylvania households and businesses.
